The stories of Dr. Seuss will spring to life again this weekend with three performances of “Seussical the Musical” at the Murfreesboro Little Theatre.
Told with humor and heart, the Cat in the Hat takes the spunky JoJo on a magical journey through the pages of imagination. Along the way, JoJo meets the fiercely loyal Horton the Elephant, who has to guard and save the entire town, as well as other sassy jungle creatures.
“Seussical the Musical,” which features several local actors, will be performed Friday, Sept. 13, and Saturday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m., with a matinee performance the following day at 2 p.m.

Wings of Freedom Fish Fry to benefit charities
Tickets are still available for the 11th annual Wings of Freedom Fish Fry that will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Smyrna Airport.
The event, which usually garners thousands of supporters every year, begins at 4 p.m. at the Corporate Flight Management building at the Smyrna Airport, located on Doug Warpoole Road.
Hosted by the Smyrna Rotary Club, the fish fry enables members to pull together resources for various local charities and provide a community event to honor area veterans.
Since its launch in 2003, the Wings of Freedom Fish Fry has grown into one of the premier fundraisers in Smyrna, with more than $495,000 in donations being distributed throughout the community.
