9/11 10th Anniversary Events
On Friday, Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department and Murfreesboro Police Department, in conjunction with other Rutherford County emergency agencies, will hold a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Rutherford County Courthouse.

“We would like you to join us in remembering the fallen firefighters, police, emergency medical services, armed forces and victims of the events that occurred on Sept. 11, 2001,” MFRD Assistant Chief Allen Swader said.

MFRD Honor Guard will be presenting colors in addition to a bagpiper playing “Taps.” Guest speakers to be announced.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office will hold its 10th annual 9/11 Community Commemoration at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office, 940 New Salem Highway.

This year the 9/11 Memorial Sculpture featuring a steel I-beam from Twin Tower II will be dedicated in the memorial gardens.

There will be patriotic music and American pride in this family focused event, which includes inflatables for the kids, food and more. WGNS’ Bart Walker will serve as emcee for this event.

White Oak Craft Fair
The work of more than 75 craft artisans will be available for purchase as The White Oak Craft Fair returns for its 22nd year, offering something of interest for everybody who delights in items and products that are individually designed and hand crafted.

From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the Arts Center of Cannon County will play host to the top craft artisans from throughout the region who will offer for sale their original textiles, jewelry, woodcarving, metalwork, pottery, photography, chairs, baskets, ironwork, stained glass and much more.

The Arts Center of Cannon County is located at 1424 John Bragg Highway, just west of Woodbury.

Flora & Fauna of Long Hunter
Flora & Fauna of Long Hunter State Park: The Art of Fred Dickson will be presented from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday inside the park office lobby located at 2910 Hobson Pike in Hermitage. Light refreshments will be served.

The Friends of Long Hunter State Park sponsor this nature-inspired art exhibit by Friends member Fred Dickson, who will display his new ceramic plate collection featuring the wildlife of Long Hunter State Park. Birds, butterflies, wildflowers and mammals are among Dickson's many creations.

Dickson's work will be available for purchase and 10 percent of all sales will benefit the nonprofit Friends of Long Hunter State Park.

TVPPA Antique Tractor Exhibition and Pull
The 24th Annual Antique Tractor Show and Pull will be held Friday and Saturday. Gates open at 7 a.m. both days. Tractor pulls are slated for Friday and Saturday night.

Children twelve and under are admitted free and adult tickets are $5.
