Fifth Annual Pearl Ball
The Fifth Annual Pearl Ball, one of Middle Tennessee’s premier charity events, is slated for 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the historic Sam Davis Home in Smyrna.
The event provides an evening that includes a silent auction, cocktails, a seated dinner, and live entertainment.

Theater
Murfreesboro Little Theater presents the classic, The Diary of Anne Frank, from Oct. 16 through 25.
The story starts with Otto Frank coming back to the attic where his Jewish family survived for years hiding from the Nazis. Otto recounts events that occurred in the past by reading entries in his daughter's diary.
Reserve tickets are available for Friday and Saturday performances at 7 p.m. with a 2 o’clock Sunday matinee.

Arsenic and Old Lace continues at the Center for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at The Center for the Arts, 110 W. College St.

Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady takes the stage again this weekend at the Arts Center of Cannon County at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 Sunday afternoon at Woodbury’s Arts Center of Cannon County.

Halloween Haunts
Oaklands Historic House Museum holds Widows, Weepers, and Wakes: Mourning Customs Exhibit throughout the month.
Victorian mourning customs will be explored.

Patterson Park Community Clean-up Day
Anyone wishing to get involved and help clean-up the Patterson Park Community is welcome to meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Castle Street Entrance of the Patterson Park Community Center.
Parking is available in the front parking lot of community center.
Free refreshments and food will be available after the event for all those taking part.

Bicycle Tour of Stones River National Battlefield
Join a Ranger for a bike tour of Stones River National Battlefield, the site of one of the most significant battles of the Civil War.
The tour is about 8 miles and lasts an hour and a half.
Children 16 and under must wear safety helmets, and other participants are encouraged to wear them as well. The tour is free and is limited to 15 participants.

Lascassas Day
A Community Day for the Lascassas and Milton communities will be Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Lascassas Lion's Club Park at 6531 Lascassas Pike in Lascassas.
Lascassas Volunteer Fire Department, Lascassas Community Ball Club, Lascassas/Milton Lions Club, and Lascassas Baptist Church will host the event kicking off at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the Lions Club.
Lascassas Baptist Church will begin their consignment sale and the Ball Club’s Christmas Treasures Craft Fair will begin at 9 a.m.
Free inflatables for the children will be available all day and the fire department's fish fry will begin at 4p.m.
In addition, three local corn mazes and pumpkin patches will be in the area.
The Lascassas VFD will also hold its monthly fish fry from 4-8 p.m. Saturday.
The all-you-can-eat meal includes fish, chicken, hush puppies, white beans, coleslaw, French fries and your choice of drink.
Homemade desserts also available.
All proceeds benefit the Lascassas Volunteer Fire Department. Adult meals are $11 with discounts for children and seniors.

Rutherford County Mass Choir Benefit Concert
The Rutherford County Mass Choir holds a benefit concert for Shardai Cousins at 6 p.m. Saturday at Bellwood Baptist Church.
Shardai was born missing parts of her skin and was diagnosed with epidermolysis bullosa, a condition that causes painful blisters, and polymyostis, an inflammatory muscle disorder.
Anti-drug event
The Community Anti-Drug Coalition and Reeves Sain Drug Store will conduct a "Prescription Take-Back Event" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 10 at the drug store location at 1801 Memorial Blvd. in Murfreesboro.
Accepted items will include unused and out-of-date prescriptions. Medication should be in its original container, if possible, labeled with contents.
Mark through personal information on containers, but leave medication information.
