Brewsboro Fest
The inaugural Brewsboro Fest has been scheduled from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday at The Avenue Murfreesboro. The event is expecting a sellout crowd of 2,500 people. A portion of the ticket sales will go to benefit United Way of Rutherford and Cannon counties.

Attendees will be able to sample brews from local, regional, national and imported breweries in their souvenir mug. Food from local restaurants will be available for purchase. Live music begins at 2 p.m. and continues until the event ends at 7 p.m.

Free parking will be available at The Avenue Murfreesboro near the Belk store. To purchase tickets in person, stop by Nissan of Murfreesboro on Memorial Boulevard or Humidor and Liquid Smoke on the Square. Tickets are also available online at BrewsboroFest.com.

All tickets are $25 (plus tax) in advance but may be purchased at the event for $30 if it has not sold out.

Walk to Cure Diabetes
The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will hold one of the area’s largest walk-a-thons Saturday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, located at 1700 Medical Center Parkway. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., and the walk is slated to begin at 10 a.m. MTSU men’s basketball coach Kermit Davis will serve as celebrity emcee for the walk, and his players will be on hand to serve as honorary grand marshall’s alongside kids with Type 1 diabetes.

Fall Festival of magic
The Middle Tennessee Magic Club will present its annual show, “The Fall Festival of Magic” at 7:02 Friday and Saturday night at the Center For The Arts, located at 110 W. College St.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12. They can be purchased at the center box office or at J. Mullins Jewelry Gifts, located at 352 W. Northfield Blvd.

Lascassas Community Day
The Lascassas Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Community Day on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 6531 Lascassas Pike in Lascassas. Proceeds from the day will benefit the Lascassas Community Ball Club, Lion’s Club and Fire Department.

Lunch will be provided by the Lascassas-Milton Lion’s Club, which will be served from 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. And dinner will be served up by the Lascassas Fire Department’s famous fish and chicken fry from 4 pm. until 8 p.m.
