Movies on the Square Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, hats and mittens for a unique winter event – Movies on the Square.
This Friday, bundle up and join the Murfreesboro Parks & Recreation Department for a good movie at 6 p.m. on the Square. Hot chocolate and popcorn will be for sale at concessions at this free, family friendly event.

Studio Tour of Rutherford County Extraordinary is a good description for the Stones River Craft Association’s Studio Tour, celebrating its 18th year in Rutherford County.
From Friday through Sunday, the owner-artists of six studios and galleries along with invited guest artists will be open and free to the public for demonstrations and shopping.
In total, 24 artists will be on hand to display and educate the public about the process and history of their individual craft, while showcasing their unique artistic talent.
The Studio Tour showcases locally produced, professional works of art that display some of the finest craftsmanship in our region.
Functional and decorative pieces in many forms for use indoors and out will be available, and the processes for creating jewelry, pottery, sculpture, stained glass and wood will be among those showcased at each of the participating studios.
The Studio Tour hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
This year stops include Alan Daigre Designs, Brown View Forge, Popcorn Studio Pottery, Ramsey Hall Studio, and Studio S Pottery & Galleries and Norris Hall Studio.

MTSU’s Salute to Veterans On Saturday, MTSU will hold the 30th annual Salute to Armed Services and Veterans Day.
Events include a veterans memorial service at the Tom H. Jackson Building, starting at 10:30 a.m., a pre-game picnic from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Kennon Hall of Fame Building, and the presentation of the Dr. Joe Nunley Memorial Award to state Sen. Doug Henry of Nashville between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Building.
The football game celebration in Floyd Stadium will include veterans, active military and their family members walking across Jones Field as the Band of Blue performs official fight songs of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines Corps. and Coast Guard.
A Marines’ Toys for Tots drive will also be held at stadium gates.
