Oaklands Bridal Fair
Join other future brides, families, and friends as they see the newest and latest information on weddings and receptions at Oaklands Historic House Museum annual bridal fair, "Here Come the Brides" from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in the Maney Hall Reception Center and on the grounds of the Oaklands Historic House Museum.
Top-of-the-line professionals including caterers, photographers, stationiers, cake designers, Valet, DJ's, floral designers, Tuxedos, limousines, bridal registry, honeymoon specialists and beautiful bridal dress designers will be on hand to answer your questions and provide advice.
The event, presented by Murfreesboro Magazine and Wilson Bank and Trust, will include drawings and special gifts. You could win a honeymoon stay and exciting prizes for your new home.

Discovery Center at Murphee Springs
Wish Dr. Seuss a Happy 105th Birthday at the Discovery Center’s SeussCelebration from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
Admission is free.
Participants will enjoy entertainment provided by Murfreesboro City Schools’ performing arts groups, art projects, free admission to the Discovery Center, and activities throughout the museum that encourage reading.
A Homemade Jam Demonstration is also offered as part of Read to Succeed’s One Book celebration.

Theater
Murfreesboro Little Theatre stages Cheaper by the Dozen at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday.
All seating is general admission.

The Center for the Arts stages The Wizard of Oz, a play based on the Classic MGM Movie, Friday through Sunday, at its location off the Historic Square.
Little Dorothy Gale of Kansas, like so many girls her age, dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a twister hits her farm and carries her away over the rainbow to another world.
Based on the classic 1939 MGM film, the story comes brightly to stage and invites you to join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they travel the universe of Dorothy's imagination.

First Friday Star Party
MTSU’s Physics & Astronomy department presents First Friday Star Party from 6:30-8:30 Friday in Wiser-Patten Science Building room 102.
Charles Higgins will present a 30-45 minute lecture on "Weird Galaxies" followed by outdoor telescope observing (weather permitting).
The Star Party is free and open to the public.
Free parking is available behind the Wiser-Patten Science (WPS) Building after 4:30 on Friday only.
Due to construction on Blue Raider Drive and the Loop, please use caution and enter campus via Womack Lane from Main Street.

Dance Festival at MTSU
The dance program at MTSU will serve as host for the Southeastern Conference of the American College Dance Festival Association, with its “Exploring Diversity through Dance” theme, March 7-10.
During the three-day conference, representatives from 30-plus colleges and universities from across the U.S. will visit the MTSU campus, bringing an anticipated 600 participants to the event.
In addition to the featured concerts on March 8 and 9, adjudication concerts and the Gala Concert also will be open to the public.
The Gala Concert, the final performance of the three-day conference, will be held at 8 p.m. March 10. This concert will showcase dances selected by the adjudicators demonstrating the range of work happening at the collegiate level.
Tickets for the adjudications are $5 per person. Admission to the Gala Concert and the featured concerts is $10 per performance. All performances will occur in Tucker Theatre in the Boutwell Dramatic Arts Building at MTSU.

Stones River National Battlefield
Celebrate Women`s History Month at the battlefield at 2 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday during the month of March in the Stone River National Battlefield’s Vistor Center.
Listen as a park ranger shares the stories of women whose lives and places in society were changed forever by the Civil War.
Talks will not be offered when living history programs or special events are scheduled.
