Generation for Creation At 6 p.m. Saturday, First Fruit Jazz Project will be in concert to celebrate 10 years of creative arts with Generation for Creation at the Patterson Park Community Gym located at 521 Mercury Blvd. in Murfreesboro.
Generation for Creation has been sowing talent in hundreds of young people over the past 10 years. Honorees at the celebration will be volunteers, students, sponsors and young people who have been a part of Generation for Creation’s first ten years.
First Fruits Jazz Project will play soft dinner music while attendees dine on Smokin’ Sensations’ smoked meat, tossed salad, green beans, and corn on the cob. Dessert will be provided by Generation for Creation.
First Fruit Jazz Project is noted for their high quality Christian jazz concerts with familiar songs. Members of the band include Mark Cherry on keyboard, Alan Cannady on saxophone, Mike Hunter on drums, and Chuck Roberts on bass.
Every year the annual Talent Contest for Kids is presented in Murfreesboro by the nonprofit Generation for Creation, Inc.
Visual and performing art classes meet year round at the Murfreesboro Boys and Girls Club located at 820 Jones Boulevard every Thursday. Plays and other community outreach programs are presented at local community centers, schools, and churches.
Generation for Creation's mission is kids, and it is structured to involve the entire community of children and adults, serving children, ages 7-17.
Tickets for the 10th year anniversary celebration with First Fruit Jazz Project are $30 for adults, $10 students and $200 table of 8.
