Celebrate the Fourth
Murfreesboro’s annual Fourth of July party, Celebration Under the Stars starts at 5 p.m. Monday, July 4 at McKnight Park, 120 DeJarnette Lane.

There will be games and activities for the kids, music, fireworks and refreshments for purchase. Rover will be available for shuttle service to and from nearby parking areas.

Please leave pets, grills, alcohol and fireworks including sparklers at home.

Colors will be presented at 8 p.m., followed by the signing of the National Anthem with accompaniment by the Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra. The fireworks are slated to begin at 9 p.m.

But before America’s birthday party starts, celebrate summer in the outdoor pool at the SportsCom with the Rock the Pool Party from 10 a.m.-5:45 p.m.

During the celebration and after the fireworks, Airport Road will be closed. All traffic leaving McKnight Park MUST turn right onto DeJarnette Lane.

Rover will be available for shuttle service to and from nearby parking areas.

Reminder
Garbage pickup in the City of Murfreesboro that normally takes place on Mondays, has been moved to Tuesday, July 5, because of the holiday. Tuesday’s collection this week only, will be on Wednesday, July 6. If you have any questions, call 615-893-3681.

La Vergne Patriotic Picnic
Starting at 5 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in La Vergne, the city’s Parks and Recreation Department will hold a 4th of July celebration .

The free event will feature activities for children including face painting, games, and a bounce house.  Refresshments will be served beginning at 6 p.m.

6:30 p.m. - Friday Night Live. Featuring The Crusty Veterans. Public Square.

8 a.m. -
