Murfreesboro Little Theater
Murfreesboro Little Theatre kicks off 2010 season with The Great American Trailer Park Musical, which is a country-rock and blues musical about the lives and loves of a trailer park community.

It’s the story of Pippi, a new tenant and runaway stripper at Armadillo Acres, Florida's most exclusive trailer park. Her arrival wreaks havoc on the unhappy marriage of the agoraphobic Jeannie and her tollbooth collector husband, Norbert.

The Great American Trailer Park Musical contains adult language and situations; mature audience is recommended.

Show dates are Jan. 8-24, with performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturdays with 2 p.m. Sunday matinees at 702 Ewing Blvd. All tickets are $15.

Tractor Pull
The Southern Invitational Indoor Tractor and Truck Pull kicks up dust at Friday and Saturday at the Tennessee Miller Coliseum on West Thompson Lane.

Competitors from 12 states will push, pull and drag their way to glory.

Fish Fry
Lascassas Volunteer Fire Department holds its monthly Fish Fry from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at 6531 Lascassas Pike.

All proceeds from the an all-you-can-eat meal including fish, chicken, hush puppies, white beans, Cole slaw, French fries and choice of drink benefit the LVFD. Homemade desserts are also available.

Adult meals are $11 with discounts for children and seniors.

Cheekwood’s 50th Anniversary
Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

To kick off the celebration, Cheekwood will offer a special 50-cents admission charge for the entire month of January.

“Nashville Memoir: Photographs by Greg Miller” and “New Direction: Video Artists Explore Southern Identity” will be among various exhibits on display at Cheekwood throughout the year.
