Santa’s Splash and Dash
Parents can get some last minute shopping in while the kids, ages 7-13, join the lifeguards for water-based Christmas cheer activities from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at Patterson Park Pool.

Pizza, dessert, fun and games will all be provided. The fee is $5 for those who preregister and $7 the day of the event. Patterson Park Community Center is located at 521 Mercury Blvd.

Holiday Lock-in
For those who would like to shop and wrap presents away from the kids all night, Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a holiday lock-in at SportsCom.

Children, ages 8-15, will also be able to enjoy overnight games, tournaments, swimming and a wide variety of activities.  

The event will be held from 7 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Saturday.

The cost for this event is $20, which will be collected the night of the lock-in, and registration is required. To reserve a spot for the event, call 615-895-5040.

Movies on the Square

Residents are invited to bring their lawn chairs, blankets, hats and mittens for a unique winter event on the Square this weekend.

At 6 p.m. on Friday, bundle up and join Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department for a free good movie.  

Hot chocolate and popcorn will also be available for sale at concessions.

Run with Scissors 5k
Race fee: in advance it is $25 + school supplies for needy local children. On day of race it is $35 + school supplies for needy children. Siegel Soccer Park, 555 Cherry Lane. This is a CERTIFIED RACE.
