The 8th Annual Murfreesboro Noon Lions Club Fore Eyes Golf Tournament at Indian Hills Golf Club to be held Saturday has been canceled.

Warriorstock
Riverdale High School is holding a benefit concert for senior Alisha Nance, who is recovering after a near drowning Friday, Feb. 5 off Barfield Road.

Warriorstock and Benefit for Alisha Nance is set for 5:30-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at Riverdale High School Auditorium.

The concert features five rock bands comprised of Riverdale students. It's an annual event, but this time all profits will be donated to Nance’s expenses. Donations will also be taken at the door.

Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door or can be purchased in advance in the Riverdale lobby during lunch, beginning Feb. 22.

Additional donations can also be made at any Pinnacle Bank and checks made out to Angela Sterry for the Benefit of Alisha Nance.

Benefit Concert
The 10th annual Gospel Extravaganza will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Stones River Primitive Baptist Church, 2315 Joe B. Jackson Pkwy.

The program benefits Quenton Bryant, a former MTSU student who shared his bass guitar talents with area churches.

He was diagnosed with kidney failure and had to have one leg amputated. Despite this challenge and mounting medical bills, Bryant continues to give to others.

Some of the featured talent includes: MTSU Choir, Marable Twins, Christ Fellowship, Kyla Dade, the Dobson family ant Mt. Juliet’s Corona Church, Cedar Grove Primitive Baptist Choir, Swanee Trumpeteers, New Traveling Stars, Joyful Noise, New Hope Church of God in Christ, Smithfork District Youth, Generation for Creation and much more.

Theater
Based on the beloved characters and stories of Dr. Seuss, the Arts Center of Cannon County presents Seussical the Musical at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday with a Sunday matinee.

The musical incorporates elements from at least 15 Dr. Seuss books and includes appearances by the Cat in the Hat and many more of his most famous characters. Seussical the Musical follows the adventures of Horton, an elephant who comes to understand that "a person's a person, no matter how small."

The Murfreesboro Center for the Arts presents Disney’s The Jungle Book at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday with a 2:30 matinee Sunday afternoon.

The story is set in a small village in India and a heart-warming story develops with a mother who hid her baby from a stalking tiger. The baby is found and raised by a pack of wolves.

Lamplighter’s Theatre stages Father of the Bride at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday with a 4:30 p.m. Sunday matinee.
