Parent's Night Out at the Discovery Center

Bring the kids, ages 3-12, to Parents’ Night Out to give them a chance to play at the museum from 5:30-9 p.m. Sunday while you enjoy an evening out.

Pre-payment of $15 per child required at time of registration. Call 890-2300 to sign up.

Sweetheart’s Delight: Dinner and a Movie at the Sam Davis Home
A catered dinner will be served before the movie is screened at 7 p.m. Friday in the museum’s Henry King Theatre. $30 per person, reservations required.

Opera and music at MTSU
MTSU Music presents a weekend for lovers with the opera Elixir of Love at 7:30 Friday and Saturday at Wright Music Building.

Pianist Lynn Rice will also be featured in a free Valentine Faculty Recital at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Wright Music Building.

Valentine Tea Party
Help your little love bugs learn to express their affection for the family this holiday by attending the Valentine's Day Tea Party at 11 a.m. Saturday at Patterson Park Community Center.

Dinner and a show at the Arts Center of Cannon County
Enjoy an evening with your sweetheart as the Heartbreakers perform a red-hot Valentine Show at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Arts Center of Cannon County.

A dance floor is provided, and you don’t need a date. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

Theater

The Murfreesboro Center for the Arts presents Disney’s The Jungle Book at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday with a 2:30 matinee Sunday afternoon.

The story is set in a small village in India and a heart-warming story develops with a mother who hid her baby from a stalking tiger. The baby is found and raised by a pack of wolves.

Murfreesboro Little Theatre stages Amy’s Attic at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee.

With lots of physicality including mime, clowning and simple acrobatics, this play offers good comedic roles for all the characters.

Amy Anderson discovers her Grandfather's magic trunk in the attic. When she falls asleep her dreams take her on an unforgettable adventure with Coco, a mute clown, into the circus world. She finds and rescues an array of circus performers suspended in time. They were banished by the curse of Ivan the Madman, evil nemesis of her Grandfather. Amy takes the performers back into the safe haven of her attic so they may again perform the 'Greatest Show on Earth'.

Stones River National Battlefield
Rangers will share their favorite programs that shed light on the stories of African Americans during the Civil War during the month of February.
