The Cannon County Arts Center presents Frankly My Dear…, with performances at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with 2 p.m. Sunday matinees through April 26.

In this hilarious, irreverent and mostly true new farce, movie mogul David O. Selznick, desperate for a hit, has already begun filming Gone with the Wind, but he needs a new script.

There is only one writer up to the task, the legendary Ben Hecht, but it turns out that he has never read the book. Regardless Selznick summons Hecht and director Victor Fleming to his office where they lock the doors, close the shades, and get to work.

On a diet of bananas and peanuts and guarded by Selznick’s super loyal secretary, Miss Peabody, the three men play all the central roles from Gone with the Wind, giving birth to a new script that becomes one of the most beloved films of all time.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults, and $8 for seniors, students or groups and may be purchased by calling the Arts Center box office at 615-563-(ARTS) 2787 or 1-800-235-9073. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.artscenterofcc.com.

Enchanted April still blooms at the Center for the Arts.

There, among the wisteria blossoms and Mediterranean sunshine, all four bloom again, rediscovering themselves in ways that they—and we—could never have expected.

Enchanted April runs April 3 through 19, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and $8 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be reserved during Center hours by calling 615-904-2787.
