Webb welcomes new head of school

The Webb School announces the arrival of Head of School Raymond S. Broadhead to its Bell Buckle campus.

A committee of The Webb School’s Board of Trustees selected Broadhead for the post in November 2009, following an extensive search and interview process. His first official day as head of school was July 1.

Only the 12th head of school in The Webb School’s 140-year history, Broadhead comes to Webb from The Elon School, a day high school in Elon, N.C. He has more than 35 years of experience in independent education, the bulk of which was spent in teaching and administrative roles at Brooks School in North Andover, Mass. Prior to leaving Brooks for Elon he served as the assistant headmaster for seven years.

“My wife, Leone, and I are very excited to be the newest members of The Webb School family,” Broadhead said. “We look forward to fully participating in the school community and getting to know the students, families, faculty, staff and alumni that make Webb so unique.”

Broadhead holds a master’s degree in science from Brown University, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Pennsylvania. He can be contacted by calling 931-389-9322 or via email at rbroadhead@webbschool.com. For more about The Webb School visit www.thewebbschool.com.
