WARTRACE, Tenn. -- For 17 years in late August, pickers and yard sale fans have been coming to this historic town in hopes of making a buy that leads to the perfect mantle piece.
On Friday, Aug. 23, and Saturday, Aug. 24, the 18th annual Wartrace Town Wide Yard Sale will once again find dealers and local families lining the thoroughfares into and out of town with antiques, collectibles, flea market merchandise, hand made crafts, and the occasional odd ball “what-iz-it.”
Previous yard sales have even found new homes for boats, cars and farm implements.
This year the two-day event will take on more of a festival atmosphere, as the Wartrace Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Kid’s Zone with attractions like bouncy inflatables, face painting, games and prizes.
Live music will be presented in the town square on both mornings beginning at 8 a.m., and food vendors will offer their wares throughout the day.
Dealer space is available at a nominal fee for out of town merchandisers and food vendors.
Contact the Wartrace Chamber of Commerce at 931-389-6144 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The sale opens at 6 a.m. each morning.
Wartrace is south of Murfreesboro on Interstate 24. From the I-24 exit 97, take State Route 64 for 10 miles west to Wartrace.
