Members of the band, Jacknife 7, wore “A” on their face and arm to honor Riverdale High School senior Alisha Nance during the annual Warriorstock concert Friday.

Five bands composed primarily of Riverdale students dedicated the concert and proceeds to help defray medical bills when she almost drowned Feb. 3 when her car plunged into Stones River off Barfield Road.

Her brother, Jared Sterry, called his mother, Angie, and Alisha at Vanderbilt University Medical Center so they could hear the crowd sing “Happy Birthday” to Alisha as she celebrates her 18th birthday Saturday.

Sterry said the family appreciated the bands and thanked her rescuers and everyone else who has helped the family since the crash.

Jacknife 7 bass player Luke Humphrey is a good friend of Alisha’s. Before their set, Humphrey asked the concertgoers to pray for her and keep her in prayers.

“Let’s get everyone praying for her,” Humphrey suggested.

Humphrey performed with Adam Williams, a 2008 Riverdale graduate, sophomore Daylan Jacks on drums and Jared Greene, guitarist and backup vocalist, who became a good friend of Alisha’s when she served as water girl for the RHS football team.

After the set, Humphrey said he was ecstatic about people who packed the auditorium for Alisha’s benefit.

“We all want Alisha here,” Humphrey said of his classmate and friend. “She’s going to get out of this. God loves her.”
