I tend to skip what is being said because neither candidate seems to address what is inside the current numbers. For example, the latest reports on unemployment skip over the fact that these is probably the temporary seasonal hiring that retailers announced recently. No mention of the thousands of permanent jobs that are being lost at financial institutions due to the Fed. keeping interest rates down. No mention of the millions of interest dollars lost to those who depend on their savings for part of their disposble income. No talk about the impact of the new health care mandate that will affect health care costs for small businesses that employ over 50 people. That in itself will keep the trend to hire "temps" going just to stay under the magic (50 number). The "debates" come off like the Captain of the Titanic arguing with the head chef over the dinner menu after hitting the iceberg.
