| The most exciting event so far this Election Day has been a dog trying to vote.
More likely, the dog was trying to escape the heat by venturing into Roy Waldron Elementary’s polling station.
“That’s been the most exciting thing to happen today,” Rutherford County Elections Administrator Hooper Penuel said.
Aside from the dog, 3,687 people had voted by 12:30 p.m. in today’s State and National Primary and County General Election. That’s on top of the nearly 15,000 voters who cast their ballots early.
Walter Hill Elementary has been the busiest precinct with 269 voters serve by 12:30 p.m. Leanna Community Center has been the second busiest with 191 voters
Two of the larger precincts, World Outreach Church and North Boulevard Church of Christ, have seen 149 and 151 respectively.
There’s still plenty of time left to vote today.
