Virginia Dale Adamson Barrett, age 82, of Murfreesboro, passed away on Dec. 29, 2012, at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. Virginia was a member of Vine Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Annie Louise Handley Adamson; husband, John Edmund Barrett; and brother, Elmer Adamson. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Joan Barrett of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren, Kevin L. Barrett, Nina Sherrill and Nori Reeser all of Murfreesboro; and six great-grandchildren, Whitney Barrett, Ben Barrett, Bailee Sherrill, Adrienne Sherrill, Anelle Sherrill and Brooks Reeser.

Chapel service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Pastors Kevin Barrett, Jimmy Barrett and Rickey Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
