Virgie Smith Bishop, age 85, passed away after an extended illness on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at her residence. She was retired from McMinnville Garment Factory and General Electric.
Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, James “Clyde” Smith and Annie Perry Smith; husband Emit “Earl” Bishop. She is survived by her daughter, Lee Ann (Paul) Gibson of Murfreesboro; sister, Nancy Tate of McMinnville; and grandchild, Lindsey Gibson of Murfreesboro; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The chapel service for Virgie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Jennings & Ayers with Bob Bush officiating. Burial will follow the chapel service in the Shiloh Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 to 8:00p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home; 820 South Church St., Murfreesboro, TN  37130; 615-893-2422. Please leave condolences at www.jenningsandayers.com.
