I am the victim of which Mike is writing. I have known him for many years. I went to Mike Vinson first with this story because I thought he was the best writer to help me get this out to the public. He is a superb talent who marches to his own beat. Mike wrote the story exactly as I told it to him.
After this incident I spoke with one of my local police investigators. He had no knowledge of this technology but was extremely interested and concerned with the magnitude of malice it could have on society. I am assisting them in an ongoing investigation in an attempt to identify who did this and why!
I hope this serves as an historical, groundbreaking story in terms of protecting the public against the endless damage causing abilities that could result from it’s misuse.
I see nothing good that could come from this technology and hope the FCC is prompt to initiate legislation to outlaw it and prosecute the designers and vendors thereof. I urge all readers please tell everyone you know, that you can no longer trust your caller/text ID. Those days are gone!
I would like to thank the Murfreesboro Post and it’s staff for having the moral and professional fortitude to publish this story!

This really isn't that new. It's been around for several years. It's commonly used by bill collectors and telemarketers. I guess the less sophisticated con artists are now picking up on it.

John Q. Public, you had better take notice of artcles like this. As the old people used to say this article is a 'Sign of The Times'. To songwriterdad, I hope the authorities find out who did this to you. And Vinson, keep "marching" to your own beat, that's why I read you every week!

It's amazing how many multi billion doll companies use the word I CAN"T, We CAN"T!
The fact is they could. If they changed their words they could change a lot of people's lives.
It's a shame so many people spend a lot of time, trying to figure out how to screw up someone's lives instead of helping.
