One man suffered stab wounds to the neck during a fight early Tuesday at a Bradyville Pike apartment, Murfreesboro Police reported.

Victim Ivan Cartillo, 27, of Bradyville Pike was treated for his injuries at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, Officer Carl Watts reported.

Cartillo opened his door about 11 p.m. to a man asking for Pasquez, Watts reported. When Cartillo told him Pasquez didn’t live there, the man looked around the apartment and refused to leave when asked. A fight broke out.

“During the altercation, Mr. Castillo was punched in the face and observed the white male pull out a knife,” Watts reported.

Detective Ed Gorham reported the man cut him with the knife. The man left. Police recovered the knife.

Witnesses notified the police about an hour later when the man returned. Officers took suspect Mark Wayne Miller, 49, of 1011 Clover Drive into custody and brought him to the police department where he refused to give a statement.

Gorham charged Miller with aggravated assault. He was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where a hearing was set Oct. 13 in General Sessions Court.

In another case, Officer Chris Gann reported Christopher Rowan, 22, of Chaney Road in Smyrna suffered a cut lip during a fight Sunday at University Gables on South Rutherford Boulevard.

Rowan and several other people were visiting Evan Helishaw’s apartment when someone knocked a beer bottle off the balcony that struck a woman, Gann reported. Moments later, seven men kicked in Helishaw’s apartment door and forced their way inside, demanding to know who threw the beer bottle.

The men punched Helishaw, Rowan and Matthew Hayeslip before leaving. Rowan was treated at MTMC.

In a third case, Officer Erica Cope reported Patrick Hecker, 20, of West McKnight Drive was treated for injuries at MTMC.

Hecker told Cope his roommate struck him twice on the left side of the face and kicked his leg during an argument about using the lawnmower. Hecker believed his roommate attacked him because he drank alcohol.

Cope advised him how to obtain arrest warrants if he wanted to prosecute.
