Evidence collected from a Rutherford County woman’s fatal shooting has been delivered to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for processing, a sheriff’s commander said Monday.

Victim Sommay Vanisouvong, 59, was found shot May 10 in her Veals Road home, said Commander Preble A. Acton of the Criminal Investigative Division.

“At this point, Mrs. Vanisouvong’s untimely death is being investigated as a homicide but the circumstances surrounding the event have not been determined,” Acton said Wednesday. “Evidence was gathered throughout the night by responding detectives but there is much more to do before we can confirm any status of this investigation.”

Acton said Monday detectives continue the long process of interviewing relevant parties, following up on information and working closely with the District Attorney’s office to determine what events occurred last Tuesday night.

More information will be released when available.

You hear about these stories when they happen, but we have not gotten an update on this case, or the case with Kevin Barrett's murder.

All murderers should rot in jail. No cozy last meals are given to the victims of murder, so why give them to the MURDERERS?
