Vandals ignite tennis courts at Old Fort Park

Vandals damaged Kids’ Castle, the tennis courts and the street near the city’s golf course this week off Old Fort Parkway, Murfreesboro Police reported.

At Kids’ Castle, the vandals cut the tennis court nets, dented trash cans and stole a metal sign, Officer David Spell reported. Loss was estimated at about $1,000.

Officer James Smith reported vandals ignited the nets on the tennis courts, burning almost all of one net. Damage was set at $500.

In another report, Officer Cameron Adam reported someone dragged tree limbs about 25 yards from the edge of the road the back gate on Golf Lane.

“The limbs were totally blocking the roadway,” Adam reported.

It appeared the limbs were freshly broken.

In another case, Officer Anthony Whitehead reported vandals tried to break into the Pepsi and Gatorade vending machines at Siegel Soccer Park on Cherry Lane. Loss was estimated at $300.

Thats impossible. Criminals would never think to commit a crime on a section of the Green way. The Green way is so safe that criminals would never dare go there.
