Valter Ray Thomason, age 77, of Murfreesboro, went to be with the Lord on November 09, 2009. He was a native of Smithville, TN but resided in Rutherford County for over 60 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church and was retired from Middle Tennessee Mental Health.
Valter was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert and Betty Ann Bess Thomason and daughter, Cynthia Thomason. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Mai Thomason; son, Mitchell (Mary) Thomason of Woodbury; daughters, Theresa (Danny) Thomason, Rose (Guy) Johnson and Peggy (Jerry) Holmes all of Murfreesboro; sisters, Ruth Robinson and Gertie Johnson of Murfreesboro; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Chapel service for Valter will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Jim Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Jimmy Holmes, Randy Bain, Jerry Bain, David Johnson, Donnie Johnson, Danny Warren, Brian Thomason and Jeff Mihm will serve are active pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130. (615) 893-2422 www.jenningsandayers.com |
