| Officers from the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force rounded up an aggravated robbery suspect from Murfreesboro and two other fugitives Monday at a home in Cookeville.
Suspect Walter Johnson, 20, of Nashville, was apprehended on charges of aggravated robbery and reckless endangerment at the Mapco convenience store Sept. 21 on Memorial Boulevard in Murfreesboro. Murfreesboro Police Detective Ed Gorham obtained the warrants after the suspect was identified through the media.
Rutherford Sheriff’s Detective Chuck Thomas, who is assigned to the task force, said task force officers worked with Gorham to obtain information about Johnson. Police appreciate citizens’ and the media for identifying this individual.
Johnson is being held in Davidson County for charges there before being transferred to Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold said with the good working relationship with the sheriff’s office and the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force, officers were able to apprehend Johnson.
Task force officers also located in the house suspects Joseph Schibik of Cookeville, who was wanted for aggravated robbery charges in Cookeville, and Leonard Kemp of Nashville who was wanted for violation of the sex offender law. |
