US Bank robbery suspect
A robber who held up a US Bank branch was being sought by Murfreesboro Police Wednesday afternoon near Old Fort Parkway, a spokesman said.

The robber entered the bank at 1:23 p.m. and gave the teller a note demanding money, said spokesman Kyle Evans.

The note instructed the teller to place money into a bag. The employee complied with the robber’s demand and he left the bank on foot.

“He did not brandish a weapon but should be considered armed and dangerous,” Evans said.

The robber was described as a white man who is 6 feet tall with a red, scruffy beard. He wore blue jeans, a long-sleeved shirt and an orange University of Tennessee cap.

People who have information about the suspect are asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 893-2717 or Crime Stoppers at 893-STOP between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Do not wear your Big Orange T hat today. Not sure if a former football player or not, but he was wearing one. Another fine image relations to UTK.

In the other local paper a similar robbery ocurred Monday at a Kangaroo station in the Antioch (Haywood lane area) with a discription mirroring the above. Have metro, MPD, and/or SO compared notes, exchanged information?

He left the bank on foot? Too bad it wasn't on crutches. How do most people, especially bank robbers typically leave a bank? I'd suggest something like this instead: "The robber left his prints on the door while entering the bank as he wore no gloves. However, upon exiting, he was soon lost as he blended into the sea of UK hat wearing SAM's patrons just outside."
