Tuesday update: Chancellor Robert Corlew III proposed a nine-step plan for ensuring Dr. Tracy Pack's records request will be honored by Rutherford County Schools.

A full explanation of Corlew's ruling, as well as court prceedings, will be available in Sunday's Post.

•••

On Monday, Chancellor Robert Corlew III heard arguments in a court case testing open government brought by plaintiff Dr. Tracy Pack.

Pack and his attorney, Theodore W. Goodman, are seeking access to public documents concerning Dr. Chontel Bridgeman, principal of Homer Pittard Campus School. Pack accuses the Board of Education of withholding public documents and charging excessive fees for their redaction and production.

The documents include missing checks, altered checks, altered sign-out sheets, and files kept on Pack’s son by Bridgeman.

Her July 27 deposition in the case was the subject of an article in last week’s Post.

During her deposition, Bridgeman refused to answer many questions. Pack’s attorney then filed a motion to compel Bridgeman to answer the questions by order of the court.

Chancellor Corlew ruled in favor of that motion Monday, ordering a second deposition of Bridgeman.

Corlew then deferred ruling on a motion by the defense to halt further inquiry of Bridgeman. Neither Bridgeman nor her attorney were present.

The court heard testimony from several Board employees. Closing statements are scheduled for Monday afternoon.

The Post will report details of testimony in next week’s edition upon conclusion of the hearing. MP

Bridgeman refused to answer many questions from the deposition, yet the defense has a motion to halt further inquiry of Bridgeman.
It just seems the county would want a through investigation in order to clear the name of their employee.

You would think RCSB be more cooperative ....it's obvious to all that they're trying to hide something and are hoping that Dr. Pack will just go away. The truth will prevail and Harry Gill will have no choice other than to address the issue surrounding Campus School, Bridgeman and her puppets. Too many people have been singled out and "forced" to leave by making it too unbearable to stay. With that many people, it will not just quietly fade away. This, I'm sure, is just the beginning.

After that disastrous deposition, I'm sure the defense would really like to "halt further inquiry of Bridgeman. Believe me. She came across as either ignorant or dishonest, or both.

She is both!

So, someone in the know, fill the rest of us in.

Since you asked for the truth. This parent is determined to find something Dr. Bridgeman has done wrong because of a personal vendetta. To his dismay she has followed every rule and RHS policy. He is mad because she refused to bend to his request when he had a child in her school 2 years ago. Every school's financial records are audited by the State each year. Campus School has had no problems. Their books are clean, Test scores are up, and parents who actually have kid there are happy. Sour grapes! You are correct that Dr. Bridgeman did not do a good job during her deposition, because she has never given one before, and has never even been in court. Unfortunately some people involved are experts in this area. The people involved have scoured her records for the past 2 years. If they had found anything Dr. Bridgeman would have a lawsuit against her instead of the County. This frivolous lawsuit is costing county taxpayers thousands of dollars in legal defense. Sad how some people refuse to accept change. Sorry, the TRUTH is not very exciting.

Obviously, Boroeducator does not know facts only one sided opinions. Here are some facts not emotions.

1. Laptop "theft" is to be investigated because not only one, but two policies were broken by Dr. Bridgeman in the loss/theft. County said stolen, deposition says "left." So there are two policies so far.
2. Signed blanked checks. Against school and county policy. 2 more broken.
3. Did not sign out when going to Tennessee Dental Association for unofficial business on school time. 2 more policies broken.
4. Untrue statements made during deposition. Not only policy but serious laws (felonies)come into play.

Need I go on?
Want the policies broken by the county school board office? Oh, sorry I can't give you those because they are not familiar with any of their own.

boroeducator's viewpoint of the "truth" is lopsided to one "side" of this issue. As in most cases, there are two sides to this issue.

I can say that this is not about a personal vendetta. Dr Pack tried to get info, and was not assisted. He was demeaned, that is true. Bot other parents and teachers also. Dr Pack has many supporters and we are behind him all the way! Cited above are several of the things done wrong, not to mention the disrepectful ways some parents and teachers were treated in the past two years.

To find out more, read about the concerns stated on previous Post stories about this and responses. Read all the issues on www.gracefulgertrude.com But get ready, that is alot of reading, with issues presented by both sides.

Just know that many, many of us are concerned by the actions of this administrator. We loved Campus School and hate what she has done to so many. Some of us feel the RCBOE has been afraid to take action due to her minority status, and thus more potential lawsuits.

I dont envy anyone in this situation. I can only hope that truth and justice win. I hope that campus can somehow regain the formerly great reputation. I just think it will take a new administrator to do one, one who is a uniter rather than a divider.

RCBOE- please rectify the wrongs done here. With so much smoke, surely you can see the fire!

boroeducator, you may think Bridgeman is innocent, but I personally watched her load a cart of school toilet tissue and paper towels, roll it to her classroom when she was teaching, load it into her vehicle at the door to her room, and then park it. Yes, I reported it, but the person to whom I did so was afraid of her as were so many. She is vindictive and very cruel to children. She has been observed numerous times loudly telling her students, "You be lying on me and I won't take it!" The truth is more interesting than YOU think.

I couldn't agree more, quietwatcher and I can hardly wait for ALL of the evidence to surface. Just talking about the situation at Campus School with people, I can't tell you how many former collegues of Dr. Bridgeman and parents had horror stories tell. The most common was how hateful she was to the kids when she thought no one was looking, the other was that she is partial to children of color. The list goes on and on. I have a feeling she's NOT going to get away with it this time though. Patiently waiting....

There are more people who were treated unfairly after asking for explanations of where our PTC monies were spent. My family was also one. I've posted the details in an earlier comment including written proof. Also, after putting the option for anyone to contact me directly via my user name, I've had several past parents and teachers who have shared terrible expriences that date back to her time at Davidson Co. Once again, pls contact me at my user name if you want my written documentation. Candace Wilson, CPA
