UPDATE: Robbers escape with $5,600 from Cash Express

No one was injured when two armed men robbed Cash Express about 3:04 p.m. Tuesday at the Memorial Boulevard location, the Murfreesboro Police spokesman said.

The two men were armed with handguns, said spokesman Kyle Evans.

Officer J.D. Vaught reported one of the robbers put a gun to the assistant manager's head and demanded money. He removed $5,614 from the cash register. The second suspect armed with a handgun stayed with a visitor and ordered her to "lay still." He took $1 from the visitor.

Witnesses described the robbers as two black men, one wearing blue jeans and the second one wearing blue jeans shorts. No getaway vehicle was given. They fled on foot.

Detectives were gathering evidence at the business.
