No one was injured when two armed men robbed Cash Express about 3:04 p.m. Tuesday at the Memorial Boulevard location, the Murfreesboro Police spokesman said.

The two men were armed with handguns, said spokesman Kyle Evans.

Officer J.D. Vaught reported one of the robbers put a gun to the assistant manager's head and demanded money. He removed $5,614 from the cash register. The second suspect armed with a handgun stayed with a visitor and ordered her to "lay still." He took $1 from the visitor.

Witnesses described the robbers as two black men, one wearing blue jeans and the second one wearing blue jeans shorts. No getaway vehicle was given. They fled on foot.

Detectives were gathering evidence at the business.

People who have information about the robbers may call the Criminal Investigations Division at 893-2717 or Crime Stoppers at 893-STOP between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Sounds like Cash Express should just ban guns from their store like other businesses want to do. That will stop them, right?

Another reason why permit holders should be allowed to carry ANYWHERE, you never know where the thugs are going to strike.

I certainly don't condone robbery, armed or otherwise. But, it seems like Cash Express just got a little taste of it's own medicine. I mean when you charge what equates to a 700% APR on a loan, then that sounds like robbery to me. People with adjustable rate mortgages that adjusted up between 10-15% got bailouts and new government legislation passed, but nobody says much about these scumbag payday loan places that are on every corner, preying on those with sub-prime credit.

As much as these type places disgust me, the people that walk in there, do so of their own free will.

i agree with "abide"!!

These places stay open for a reason. People are ignorant or desperate enough to keep going in there.

There should be a limit of 20%-30% apr that includes all fees. Many states had laws like this 30 years ago. Now without regulation we allow these companies to suck the blood out of america. It is not productive.

I agree with "abide" too.

What in the world does the fees, etc that a business charges have to do with 2 robbers potentially MURDERING 2 human beiungs?!?!
There are plenty of businesses, etc, that I despise, but that hardly justifies armed robbery and putting emplooyees (HUMAN BEINGS) lifes in danger.
If that was the case, you could say that everybody who works for the Bank of America, or even the US Government deserves to be held at gunpoint and robbed.
Oh, and what do you want to bet that if these 2 thugs are arrested, that they have prior convictions? Maybe even on probation?!?

Must have been Legal Gun Permit holders that did this robbery. LOL! Atleast thats what Murfreesboro wants all you idiots to think. Crime comes from people who have no respect for the law or anyone else.

Tell me of some crimes committed by legal gun permit holders that has to pass a background check through the TBI & FBI? Then compare them to the everyday run a round thugs of Rutherford County who makes there own laws.

I agree. These are the companies that only making our economy worse. We should all make demands to close them down.

You're right "rgould". Two scums of the earth running around endangering working people and everyone's concerned about what a business charges. Shows how everyone accepts crime as "business as usual" in Tennesse's most dynamic city. My neighbor went shopping for two hours one day and robbers broke into her house and stole all her jewelry. The police came out and wrote the report as if it was "business as usual".
