The Murfreesboro Police Department released the name of the shooting victim Tuesday morning.

Cody Clevenger, 19, of Murfreesboro, was killed in a shooting that occurred at 1345 Wenlon Drive around 7 o'clock Monday night.

Clevenger was transported to Middle Tennessee Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

“The criminal investigation is ongoing and detectives are actively working the case. No further statements will be made at this time,” MPD spokesman Kyle Evans said in a press release.

One person has died following a double shooting Monday night at Raiders Ridge Apartments, according to officials with the Murfreesboro Police Department.

"The person shot earlier this evening has been pronounced dead," said Kyle Evans, public information officer for the Police Department.

Evans said the person's identity is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.

9 p.m.

Police are searching for the suspects wanted in connection with a shooting that injured two people Monday night on Wenlon Drive near the MTSU campus.

The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. near the 600 block of Raiders Ridge Apartments.

The suspects are described as one black male, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing a red hoodie, and one white male, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing a black hoodie.

One person who suffered “life-threatening injuries” has been rushed to Middle Tennessee Medical Center, said Kyle Evans, public information officer for the Murfreesboro Police Department.

Another person was also struck but received minor injuries, Evans said.

A possible motive has not yet been confirmed by police.
