One lane of state Route 840 is closed at the 54-mile marker toward Franklin between Northwest Broad Street and Interstate 24.
A large pothole developed on the highway, reported Tennessee Department of Transportation spokeswoman B.J. Doughty.
TDOT maintenance and bridge repair crews are beginning the repairs.
"Our repair crews worked through the night and got the new concrete poured," Doughty said. "It now has to cure or "set-up."
The lane is expected to be reopened sometime Sunday.
