Update:
The Murfreesboro Police Department arrested six Tuesday in connection with a shooting around 5:10 Monday night near Cason Lane Academy.
According to an MPD press release, detectives interviewed and arrested five juveniles and one adult in connection with the case.
There were two shooters involved, both are juveniles, and are charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon on school property.
The three other juveniles and Murfreesboro resident Travis Stanley, 19, were arrested and charged with conspiracy.
7:50 p.m. Monday
A teenage boy received minor injuries Monday when he was shot in the leg near Cason Lane Academy in Murfreesboro.
"A 14-year-old was shot in the leg around 5:10 this evening near Cason Lane Academy," said Kyle Evans, public information officer for the Murfreesboro Police Department.
Evans said the boy was transported to Middle Tennessee Medical Center to be treated for injuries sustained during the incident.
"A juvenile suspect has been developed," he said, "and officers are currently looking for that suspect."
Police did not release any information regarding a possible description of the suspect or motive, and the incident remains under investigation.
Evans said no further information would be released tonight. |
