The 11-year-old Spring Hill boy who was reported missing Tuesday has been safely located only a few hours after the authorities issued a statewide Amber Alert regarding his whereabouts.
Benjamin Ross Tipton was found just after 10 p.m., according to officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Up until late Tuesday, no one had heard from Tipton since 2:30 p.m. when he was last seen leaving his Spring Hill home on a blue bicycle. His bicycle was found more than four hours later outside of the Kroger in Spring Hill, which is located about 45 minutes southwest of Murfreesboro.
Within what seemed to be only a few minutes after the Amber Alert was issued, volunteers from the Spring Hill area joined law enforcement officials in the search. He was found less than three hours later.
Police did not immediately release any more details regarding his condition or where Tipton was located, and it is unknown whether a criminal investigation has been opened into the incident.
