Early morning temperatures fell below freezing across most of Middle Tennessee this morning.
Some rural and low-lying areas have even experienced a hard freeze, although the official temperature in Murfreesboro only reached 36 degrees.
Temperatures will once again fall below freezing overnight before the weather turns warmer over the weekend.
With a cold Canadian high pressure system remaining over the midstate, clear skies and light winds will allow temperatures to fall into the upper 20s to lower 30sin many locations tonight.
The National Weather Service highs in the mid-60s Thursday and Friday and highs around 70 Saturday and Sunday with lows in the 40s.
