Splish, Splash! 
Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation and Murfreesboro Fire Department join forces this summer to cool-down the citizens of Murfreesboro with Splash Out.

Firefighters will hose down the kids and parents for a day of fun in the water and sun. The free event will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. on the following dates:

• Thursday, June 10 at Siegel Neighborhood Park
• Thursday, June 24 at Barfield Crescent Park
• Thursday, July 15 at Old Fort Park ; Pavilion No. 1

Small Fry Tri
Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation will hold the 7th annual Small Fry Tri from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 12 at the Old Fort Park Trailhead. 

Kids ages 2-6 years old will run, bike and swim (well, run through the sprinklers) to the finish line where everyone receives a trophy.

Parents, older siblings, or personal trainers may help. Bring a bicycle or tricycle and a helmet. Races will be held about every 10 minutes and cost $6, which includes a trophy.

Pre-registration is highly recommended and available at the Barfield crescent Park Wilderness Station now through June 11. Purchase your event packet with everything you need for the day. T-shirts for little competitors will be on sale on the day of the event.

Learn how to canoe and kayak for free
Join Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation for Boat Day with Stones River Watershed Association from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 26 at the Manson Pike Trailhead.

Volunteers from the SRWA will bring several types of canoes and kayaks to try and will show the characteristics and advantages of each craft, boating basics, correct paddling strokes and boat safety from knowledgeable volunteers. Lifejackets and paddles will be provided.
