The United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties is partnering with Middle Tennessee State University and other local businesses to promote healthy habits in youth in Rutherford and Cannon counties on Sept. 13.
The program consists of three different opportunities: refurbishing playgrounds, collecting healthy snacks, and volunteering to do activities with kids at United Way partner programs. United Way is still seeking volunteers to help refurbish playgrounds as well as do activities with kids at local after school programs that will encourage them to be active.
The volunteering will take place from 11:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. Sept. 13. Volunteers registered by Sept. 1 will receive a free T-shirt. All volunteers will be provided with a free lunch before they volunteer.
