The United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties has announced the promotion of Meagan Flippin to President and Chief Executive Officer for the local organization.
Pat Murphy, General Mills Plant Manager and Chair of the search committee responsible for the selection, commented on the decision saying, “Meagan has performed exceptionally at a Senior Director level for us and has an impressive skill set to help lead us forward. There were other outstanding candidates, but Meagan’s vision for where she would like to move our United Way really helped elevate her in our selection. I am thrilled to have Meagan leading, and I am very excited about our future.”
Flippin, a Murfreesboro native, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Middle Tennessee State University. She also earned her Master’s degree in Strategic Leadership from MTSU.
Flippin has been with the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties, serving in the capacities of Director of Marketing and Special Events and Senior Director of Marketing, Special Events, and Community Impact, since 2009. She is actively involved in the community as the immediate Past President of Murfreesboro Young Professionals and the immediate Past Chair of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce’s Diplomat Program.
Flippin is also active with the Junior League of Murfreesboro and the Blue Raider Athletic Association. Before coming to work at United Way, Flippin was employed by the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville and Middle Tennessee State University prior to that. |
