The United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties has announced the promotion of Kristen Hampton to director of Communications and Events.
Hampton has been a member of the United Way team since 2010, serving in the Resource Development department and most recently as the Coordinator of Marketing and Special Events.
“Kristen has played a key role in the creative development of our communications efforts and the implementation of United Way’s events,” commented Meagan Flippin, President and CEO of the local United Way. “Kristen has proven her ability to demonstrate ethical leadership, seek innovation in her creative pursuits, cultivate relationships with our stakeholders, exemplify a team mentality, and maintain a constant desire to exceed expectations.”
“After conducting a formal search and interviewing several talented professionals, it became clear that Kristen would be the best fit for this role,” added Flippin.
Hampton received her Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Mississippi State University and her Master’s degree in Mass Communication from Middle Tennessee State University.
Her previous professional endeavors include experience with Mississippi Public Broadcasting and conducting research studies through an assistantship with MTSU’s College of Mass Communications.
Hampton has become an active member of the community, having been invited to serve on the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Council and recently being named the Murfreesboro Young Professionals “Member of the Year.”
