United Way names Flippin marketing director | United Way

Meagan Flippin
United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties has named Meagan Flippin as the new director of marketing and special events.

Flippin, a Murfreesboro native, came to United Way from the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville where she had been employed since August 2008.

As director of Marketing and Special Events, she will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall strategic marketing plan, including brand management and communication tactics, in addition to coordinating special events throughout the year that correspond with that plan.

“We are excited to have Meagan join our staff in this important role,” said Brian Hercules, president and CEO of United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties. “She brings a fresh look at our marketing efforts coupled with a passion and desire to be innovative in our marketing.”

Flippin is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Public Relations and also holds a Master’s degree from MTSU in Strategic Leadership. While at MTSU,

Flippin was very involved with initiatives and fundraisers for non-profit organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital/ALSAC, the Ronald McDonald House, and Habitat for Humanity and was the recipient of the MTSU Community Service Award and the MTSU President’s Award.

She was also employed as a graduate assistant by the MTSU Office of Leadership and Service while completing her graduate coursework. Currently, Flippin serves as an Ambassador and Big Sister for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee and an alumna advisor on the Executive Board for Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

“I am thrilled at this opportunity to utilize my skills and background in communications and event production to truly make a difference,” Flippin said upon the announcement. “United Way is an extraordinary organization that serves an integral role in our community, and I am honored to be a part of its future.”

Meagan is a great hire! What a talented, focused and hard working young lady! She was on a huge success in everything she was involved in High School and MTSU.

She comes from an outstanding family. Congrats Brian, great addition to your staff!
