The United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties has announced its 2011 Board of Directors.

Before being named associate vice president and spokesman for MTSU in October 2010, Oppmann spent 25 years in the journalism industry. He had been with the Daily News Journal since 2007 and also served as a vice president with The Tennessean. Oppmann is a University of Kentucky graduate and a Hopkinsville, Ky., native. He and his wife, Elise, live in Murfreesboro with daughters Emily 11; Sarah, 9; and Rachel, 5.
