Two Governor’s School events open to the public | MTSU, Event, Governor's School, Mike Loudermilk, Mike Huckaby

Mike Huckaby (R) and Mike Loudermilk (L) will perform for the Governor's School for the Arts at MTSU Sunday.
Two special programs will be presented this month at MTSU for students of the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts and tickets to the events will be available to the general public.

The performances will be a musical variety show featuring professional musicians Mike Huckaby, Damien Horne and Mike Loudermilk on Sunday, June 14, and an original rock opera by Nashville in Motion and the Peter Moon Band on Saturday, June 20.

Huckaby, Horne and Loudermilk have toured, recorded and written songs with artists including John Schneider, Crystal Gayle, Kid Rock, the Neville Brothers, Bon Jovi, Hank Williams Jr., Dwight Yoakam, Keith Urban and many more. They have recorded several albums internationally and have played on world stages from the London Palladium to the Crazy Horse Saloon, and from the casinos of Las Vegas to the White House.

The Nashville in Motion performance will be a live dance, theater and music experience that will include professional dancers and musicians in “FIX: What’s Your Monkey,” a look at rehab and the wide variety of addictions that plague human beings, told from the view of friends and family members.

The students will attend free of charge as part of their participation in the Governor’s School, and ticket sales will help fund the staging of the programs. The performances will be held at 7 p.m. in Tucker Theatre on the MTSU campus.

Ticket prices for each show are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Advance tickets may be paid by credit card by calling the school office at (615) 898-2223 or L. Hawkersmith at (615) 969-3940. All advance tickets will be held at Will Call at the box office. Additional tickets will be available at the door until they sell out.
