Two juveniles ages 15 and 17 were charged with burglary after they allegedly skipped school Tuesday and broke into a home in the Southridge subdivision, a sheriff’s corporal said.

They were also charged with two counts of theft, vandalism and evading arrest by Cpl. Ryan Huggins.

The youngest boy was arrested on an unruly charge during the weekend after he was accused of threatening to stab his principal and murder a teacher in an online game.

Huggins and Deputy Joshua Anderson were called to Casper Court on a suspicious vehicle call. They found the empty vehicle. Neighbors told deputies they saw two boys with a backpack leave the car. Deputies tracked the boys to a tree line.

“I saw them both crouched down in the woods,” Huggins said, adding, he identified himself as from the sheriff’s office. “They both took off running.”

Huggins apprehended the younger suspect and deputies went to the second boy’s home where they took him into custody.

Both boys were charged and booked into Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center until a court hearing Wednesday afternoon.

Later, Huggins found the boys allegedly broke into Carla Edmonson’s home on Kite Court.

Cpl. Joe Duncan recovered most of her $2,475 property in a wood line but two iPods, a Play Station 2 and a silver necklace remain missing.

What school do these kids go to?

Whatever happened t good old fashioned reform schools? Tthese little thugs will just get another slap on the wrist and be turned loose to burglarize yet more homes. Anyone else other than me tired of the juvenile thugs in this county?

Hold the parents accountable for their kids actions and you will see and significant decrease in this type of activity.

Funny everyone wants to hold the parents accountable but yet when the child is 7yrs old and gets a spanking the whole world throws a fit. If you want the parents to be held accountable then stop making all these rules that limit the parents and their discipline. With that being said their is a difference between good ol fashion butt whippin and a beating.

Spanking is not illegal. Never has been, never will be.

involve your boys with a sport or scouts and keep them busy and they won't have time to be running around burglarizing homes. skipping school, thats a whole other issue. I think there should be a system in place that if a child is absent from school that a parent or guardian be notified asap to see if it is a legitimate absentee otherwise a search should be in order. The other issue with these kids driving a vehicle underage, I think a device should be made and incorporated into the ignition of vehicles where you have to stick your drivers license into it before you can start it up.

sorry, one of the boys is 17 so I guess he's not underage but atleast having the license scanner would show who was in the vehicle. that might help vehicle theft. who knows...
