No injuries occurred when a man fired a shotgun into a beer truck early Friday morning at an Old Nashville Highway store, Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies said.

Two employees of Ajax Turner avoided injury when the man shot into the trailer of the semi-truck preparing to deliver beer at Kountry Korner Market, said Deputy Michael Moody.

The employees drove into the market about 4:30 a.m. followed by a pickup truck, the deputy said. They saw three men at a pay phone and stayed inside the truck because they felt the situation was suspicious.

In the rear view mirror, one of the employees saw a man walking up to the truck with a shotgun in his hand.

“He fired a shot from the shotgun that hit the side of the trailer” as the driver drove away, Moody said.

Detective Troy Hooker is investigating.
