Traffic Update: No lane closures Monday for holiday

Leaf Avenue Storm Drain Improvement Project
All remaining work is on Leaf Avenue.   Work continues, no lane closures

Manson Pike/Fortress Blvd Realignment Project
Expected No Lane Closures:  The work entails relocating the intersection of Manson Pike and Fortress Blvd further south along Fortress Blvd and re-aligning Gresham Lane to tie-in with the new intersection    Work continues, no lane closures

Fortress Blvd Widening Project (Between Blaze Drive and the new Manson/Fortress Intersection)

Expected Lane Closures:  The traffic has been reduced to two lanes (one lane each direction) on Fortress Blvd between Blaze Drive and Chippewa Place.  The work entails the widening Fortress Blvd from a three lane curb and gutter street to a five lane curb and gutter street with bike lanes and sidewalks.  Work also includes adding a right turn lane of Blaze Drive adjacent to the elementary school. Work continues, no lane closures

Obrien Drive Sewer Construction Project (Between Bradyville Pike and Winston Place)

Expected Lane Closures:  Tuesday through Friday, 9AM – 3:30 PM:  Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department will be replacing the sewer main along Obrien Drive between Bradyville Pike and Winston Place.  There will be lane shifts and road closures on Obrien Drive.  Detours signs and appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.  The road will be opened to local traffic only and the property owners on Obrien Drive have been notified.  Work continues with no major changes.

Haynes Drive Safety Improvement Project (between Sulphur Springs and Regency Park Drive)

Expected Lane Closures:  Tuesday through Friday, 9 am to 2 pm:  The traffic will be reduced to one lane with flagman on Haynes Drive at Sulphur Springs Road.  The work entails re-aligning and widening the roadway to three lanes with a continuous turn lane and 2’ shoulder.

Annual City Street Paving Project
 
Expected Lane Closures:   Tuesday through Friday, 9 AM – 4 PM: Paving Operation. Expect delays and traffic interruptions
Highland Avenue from Vine Street to Ash Street and Bilbro Ave
 
Other Local Projects
 
Lascassas Pike at Garrison Cove Drive
 
Expected No Lane Closures:  Tuesday through Friday, 9 am to 2:00 pm:  Contractor for Emerald Place Development will be working on the street connection and right turn lane at the intersection of Lascassas Pike and Garrison Cove Drive.  There will be minor traffic interruptions on Lascassas Pike.
 
Atmos Energy Rehabilitation Work
 
N. Front Street (between W. Main Street and NW Broad Street) – August 22 – 26 (Completed)
W. Main Street (between NW Broad Street and N Front Street) – August 29 – September 2 (Completed)
S. Front Street (between NW Broad Street and Hickerson Drive) – September 5, 7 - 9
 
Expected Lane Closures:  Sunday, Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00 pm to 5:00 am:  For the next 3 weeks, starting Sunday, August 22, Atmos Energy will be performing rehabilitation work the existing gas pipes on W Main, N Front and S Front Streets.  The work entails slip lining existing pipes which will require digging pits in the middle of W Main Street, N Front Street and S Front Street.  Sections of W Main Street and S Front Street will be road closed between 8:00 pm and 5:00 am.  Detour signs and appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
 
XO Communication Fiber Optic Work
 
N. Maple Street (between College Street and Lytle Street) – September 7 – 10
Lytle Street (between N Maple Street and N Church Street) – September 13 – September 17
 
Expected NO Lane Closures:  Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 pm to 2:00 am:  For the next 2 weeks, starting Thursday, September 2, XO Communication will be installing fiber optic lines on College Street, N Maple Street, Lytle Street and N Church Streets.  The work entails digging pits in the sidewalk and boring underneath the pavement and sidewalk. Sections of the sidewalk will be closed and detour signs and appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
