Traffic Update: New project at Joe B. Jackson Parkway

Manson Pike/Fortress Boulevard Realignment Project
Expected No Lane Closures:   Traffic has been shifted onto the newly built section of Manson Pike near the bridge at Overall Creek to Fortress Boulevard.  Gresham Lane is closed at Medical Center Parkway and traffic to and from Medical Center Parkway is shifted to the new Gresham Lane connector road from Fortress Boulevard.  Traffic control signs are in-place.  Work continues, no lane closures

Fortress Boulevard Widening Project (Between Blaze Drive and the new Manson/Fortress Intersection)
Expected No Lane Closures:   The traffic has been reduced to two lanes (one lane each direction) on Fortress Boulevard between Blaze Drive and Puckett Creek Crossing.  The work entails the widening Fortress Boulevard from a three lane curb and gutter street to a five lane curb and gutter street with bike lanes and sidewalks.  Work continues, no lane closures  

CCTV Monitoring System Project
Expected Lane Closures:   Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:  The contractor for the CCTV expansion project will be installing new power services and fiber drops along Memorial Boulevard, Medical Center Parkway, Old Fort Parkway and S Church Street.  Work continues, minor traffic interruptions.

Maney Avenue Street Improvement Project (between SE Broad Street and College Street)
Expected Road Closures:  Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:  Road construction work continues along Maney Avenue between Broad Street and E Castle St.  This section is closed to through traffic including the intersection of Maney Avenue and Castle Street.  Access drives to the local residents and businesses will be kept open at all times. Motorists are advised to use Highland Ave and Academy Street travelling north/south and State Street and Vine Street travelling east/west.   Work continues with road closures 

Obrien Drive Sewer Construction Project (Between Bradyville Pike and Winston Place)
Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 9a.m. – 3:30 p.m.:  Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department has begun their construction replacing the 2” water main along Wingate Street off O’Brien Drive.  Work continues, minor traffic interruptions.
 
Cason Lane at Rideout Lane
Expected Lane Closures:   Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:  Traffic signal installing work continues intermittently at this location.  There will be minor traffic interruptions and partial lane closures.  Work continues, minor traffic interruptions.
 
Lytle Creek Sewer Replacement Project (Intersection of Hickerson Drive and West Castle Street)
Expected Lane Closures:  Wednesday and Thursday:  The contractor will be paving (binder course) on West Castle Street.  The intersection of Hickerson Drive and Castle Street will be opened to traffic on Thursday.  South Walnut from West Castle to the dead end section will be closed to traffic for three weeks.  Final surfacing will be done at a later time.  Detour signs will be in-place.
 
Comcast Fiber Optic Project (Memorial Boulevard between DeJarnette Lane and Thompson Lane)
Expected Road Closures:  Monday – Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.:  The contractor for Comcast will be installing fiber optic cables along the east side of Memorial Boulevard.  There will be a moving lane closure for the northbound traffic on Memorial Boulevard between DeJarnette Lane and Thompson Lane.  Arrow board and proper traffic controls will be in place.
 
NHK Project at Joe B. Jackson Parkway
Expected NO Lane Closures:  Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.:  The contractor will be working on right turn lane improvements on Joe B Jackson Parkway just east of Elam Road.  There will be minor traffic interruptions on the eastbound approach of Joe B Jackson Parkway.  Proper traffic controls will be in place.
 
Annual City Street Paving Project
Expected Lane Closures:  Thursday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.:  City paving and striping crews will be working on the following streets:  Expect lane shifts and traffic interruptions during these operations.
 
Robert Rose Drive between Thompson lane and Medical Center Parkway
Hope Way off College Street
