Traffic Update: Manson-Fortress realignment continues



Leaf Avenue Storm Drain Improvement Project
All remaining work is on Leaf Avenue.   Work continues, no lane closures

Manson Pike/Fortress Blvd Realignment Project
Expected No Lane Closures:  The work entails relocating the intersection of Manson Pike and Fortress Blvd further south along Fortress Blvd and re-aligning Gresham Lane to tie-in with the new intersection.  On Tuesday, August 10, at 9 AM, the traffic on Fortress Blvd near Manson Pike will be detoured onto the temporary access road and the contractor will begin installing sanitary sewer and storm pipes on Fortress Blvd.

Fortress Blvd Widening Project (Between Blaze Drive and the new Manson/Fortress Intersection)

Expected Lane Closures:  The traffic has been reduced to two lanes (one lane each direction) on Fortress Blvd between Blaze Drive and Chippewa Place.  The work entails the widening Fortress Blvd from a three lane curb and gutter street to a five lane curb and gutter street with bike lanes and sidewalks.  Work also includes adding a right turn lane of Blaze Drive adjacent to the elementary school.  Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM, City Traffic Signal Contractor will be working on the traffic signal at Fortress Blvd and Blaze Drive.  There will be minor traffic interruptions.

Cason Lane (between Old Fort Parkway and Amber Glen Drive)
 
Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Wednesday, 9 AM – 4 PM:  There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions on Cason Lane for striping operation.

Saint Andrews Drive (between New Salem Highway and Oval Hesson Drive)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 PM, Utility Contractor will be making casting adjustments on Saint Andrews Drive in preparation for paving.  On Friday, August 13, 9 AM – 4 PM:  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions on Saint Andrews Drive for paving and striping operations.

Gateway Blvd (between Thompson Lane to Medical Center Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures:    Monday, August 9, 9 AM – 4 PM:  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions on Gateway Blvd for paving and striping operations.

Garrison Drive (between Gateway Blvd and Old Nashville Hwy)

Expected Lane Closures:    Monday, August 11, 9 AM – 4 PM:  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions on Garrison Drive for paving and striping operation

State Street (between Maney Avenue and Second Avenue)

Expected Lane Closures:    Tuesday, August 10 through Friday, August 13, 9 AM – 4 PM:  There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions on State Street for milling operation.

Annual City Street Paving Project
 
Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 4 PM:  City paving and casting crews contractor will be milling and making casting adjustments on the following streets (Hanover St, Brown Dr and Raleigh Ct, Sevier Street, Richardson Dr, Castle Street, Kerr Street, Donnell Drive, Hancock Drive and University Drive).  Expect lane shifts and traffic interruptions during the milling and casting adjustment operations.
 
Obrien Drive Sewer Construction Project (Between Bradyville Pike and Winston Place)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 9AM – 3:30 PM:  Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department will be replacing the sewer main along Obrien Drive between Bradyville Pike and Winston Place.  There will be lane shifts and road closures on Obrien Drive.  Detours signs and appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.  The road will be opened to local traffic only and the property owners on Obrien Drive have been notified.  Work continues with no major changes from last weeks traffic control.
