LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Middle Tennessee juniors Cordairo Golden and Kiara Henry led the Blue Raiders to a strong showing Friday during the opening night of competition at the Kentucky Invitational.
Golden placed third in the men’s long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 11.75 inches (7.00 meters). The Memphis native also placed fifth in the high jump, posting a mark of 6-04.25 (1.94m).
Meanwhile Henry led the Blue Raider women jumpers with a jump of 19-02.75 (5.86m) to finish third in the long jump. Amber Dandy notched a ninth-place performance in the event with a leap of 18-04.25 (5.59m).
The Blue Raiders also received solid performances from Junior Cadet and Kameron Rory in the long jump. Cadet finished sixth with a jump of 22-00.75 (6.72m) while Rory leapt 21-02.75 (6.47m) to finish ninth.
The action continues on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Central time with the women’s high jump and the men’s and women’s triple jump. |
