The legacy of Ted Welch and the legendary career of Tim McGraw will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Fest de Ville Gala, the annual benefit for the education and cultural programs of the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

The optional black-tie event begins with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. in War Memorial Auditorium, across the street from TPAC, followed by dinner and entertainment.

McGraw and Welch will receive TPAC’s Applause Award for their distinguished contributions to the performing arts.

Co-chairs for the event — inspired by the Broadway hit The Addams Family — are Ashley Henry and Patsy Weigel, which will feature entertainment by actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth, winner of Emmy and Tony Awards.

“Honoring Tim McGraw and Ted Welch with our Applause Award adds to the excitement of the annual gala and opening of another season of performances and arts education at TPAC. More than ever, we’re connecting different communities in Nashville, from Music Row to corporate headquarters, to serve Tennessee children and teachers,” said Kathleen O’Brien, president and chief executive officer.  “From the décor to Kristin Chenoweth’s appearance, the gala will be an exceptionally fun party—eerie, elegant and absolutely unforgettable thanks to our chairs’ clever interpretation of The Addams Family theme. Interestingly, Kristin originated the Broadway role of Glinda in Wicked, which happens to be playing at TPAC the same night as our benefit,” she said.

“For different reasons, in different circles, Tim McGraw and Ted Welch are among Nashville’s most admired, respected and successful men,” said O’Brien. “Tim is receiving the Applause Award for his artistic achievements in music and film. We’re honoring Ted for his key contributions to the vitality of the performing arts in Nashville, including his role to help build TPAC.  Package all of this together in one night and we have a true celebration of artistic achievement and support for the arts and the difference TPAC Education makes in the lives of thousands of students in classrooms across the state.”
