Tennessee tourism professionals from across the state will come together for the TACVB Blizzard IV, sponsored by the Tennessee Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus and Miles Media. The event takes place Jan. 21 – 22, 2010 at Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Murfreesboro. This year’s theme is “Looking for the Rainbow.” The event begins with a welcome and a keynote address by Kelly Swanson. Swanson, a nationally known author, comedian and motivational speaker, will discuss how to see beyond obstacles in life and teach attendees how to be unforgettable in business. Breakout sessions focus on Making Sense of Data, Analytics and Research for Everyone, Allocating Your Advertising Dollars and Crisis Communications. The state tourism office will moderate a panel highlighting the department’s brand new statewide initiative “Discover Tennessee Trails & Byways.” Tourism Commissioner Susan Whitaker will provide the closing keynote address at the luncheon on Friday. The Blizzard focuses on the significance of Tennessee tourism to local and state economic development. Tourism provides $14.4 billion in direct economic impact to Tennessee.
